Följande uppsats är en litteraturstudie och som baseras på redan befintlig forskning om berättelser från kvinnor med erfarenheter av hedersrelaterat våld. Bakgrund: Begreppen heder och hedersrelaterat våld är efter många års forskning fortfarande svåra att definiera. Vad våldet beror på och hur det tar sig uttryck finns det delade meningar om i forskningen. Forskningen kring detta ämne fokuserar ofta på kvinnor som ett offer och som utsatta. Vi vill sträva efter att se kvinnorna som aktiva aktörer och anlägger således ett aktörsperspektiv. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att genom en litteraturstudie undersöka strategier och orsaksförklaringar som kvinnor med erfarenheter av ett hedersrelaterat våld och förtryck använder sig av för att hantera sina livssituationer. Metod: En sammanställning av tio kvalitativa artiklar, där kvinnor med erfarenheter av att leva inom hederskulturen kommer till tals, presenteras i litteraturstudien. Artiklarna togs fram genom sökningar i olika databaser och därefter gjordes en kvalitetsgranskning av artiklarna. En tematisk analys har genomförts för att identifiera relevanta teman som besvarar frågeställningarna. Resultat: Den tematiska analysen behandlar två teman: leva inom ramen för hederskultur och avskärma sig från hederskultur. Under den första presenteras två underteman. Den första är acceptera kulturen och den andra är strategier för att utöka livsutrymmet. Det andra temat, avskärma sig från hederskultur inbegriper också två underteman: bryta all kontakt samt återuppta kontakt med familjen. Slutsats: Kvinnor med erfarenhet av att leva inom hederskulturen har en medvetenhet om hur de förväntas leva och skapar således strategier för att hantera sina livssituationer.
The following essay is a literature study based on previously existing research on stories from women with experiences of honour-related violence. Background: Honour and honour-related violence are despite several years of research difficult to define. There are split opinions of what the violence depends on and how it finds expression. The research on this topic often focuses on women as victims and exposed. We aim to see the women as active actors and thus applies an actor’s perspective. Purpose: The purpose with this study is, through a literature study, to examine strategies and causal explanation for women with experience of honour-related violence and oppression to deal with their life situations. Method: A compilation of ten qualitative articles, where women with experiences of living in honour culture, are presented in the literature study. The articles were selected through searches in various databases, and then a quality review of the articles was made. A thematic analysis has been implemented to identify relevant themes that give answers to the questions. Result: The thematic analysis process two themes: live within the context of honour-culture and shield themselves from honour-culture. Under the first, two subtopics are presented. The first one is accepting the culture and the other one is strategies to expanding living space. The other theme, shield themselves from the honour-culture, also includes two subtopics: break all contactand resume contact with the family. Conclusion: Women with experiences of living within the honour-culture have an awareness of how they will be expected to live and thus creating strategies to handle their life situations.
