”What I learn with the body gets stuck in my head” : Five teachers’ perceptions’ of aesthetic learning processes in teaching (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The current curriculum describes that the teaching should be organized so that different forms of knowledge are considered and that varied forms of expression are used in the student's learning. The purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge of the way aesthetic learning processes with art, drama, music and dance are used in pre-school teaching and grades 1-3. For this purpose, three research questions have been formulated: How do teachers perceive the concept of aesthetic learning processes? In what ways do teachers work with aesthetic learning processes in teaching? How do teachers motivate their choice of aesthetic expressions in teaching? The study is based on a qualitative method with teacher interviews as data collection method that has been analyzed from a sociocultural and pragmatic perspective. The result shows the teacher's description of how aesthetic learning processes are applied in the form of a subject-integrated teaching in which varied forms of expression are a way of creating understanding, consolidating knowledge and creating motivation. It is also seen to design the teaching so that all student's different ways of learning are considered as well as creating a joyful learning. The result also shows challenges in the way of time, materials and uncertainty.
