I denna kandidatuppsats var syftet att undersöka vem som använder Ellen Keys minne samt hur minnet används inom den svenska historiekulturen under 1969–2020. För att undersöka detta har representativa exempel från utbildningskultur, populärkultur och minneskultur valts ut. Denna uppsats har undersökt frågeställningarna i vilket syfte som Keys minne uppmärksammandes, vilken bild som förmedlades och hur förändringarna såg ut i bilden av Key samt vad aktörerna ville förmedla av hennes minne. För att besvara dessa frågor har materialet valts genom ett teoretiskt ramverk gjort av Anders Dybelius med tre kategorier: populärkultur, minneskultur och utbildningskultur. Materialet som valdes att analyseras är i stor omfattning litteratur, men även ett musikspår, en Youtube serie och ett studentspex.

Resultatet visar att de flesta av de representativa utvalda exemplen av materialet har ett syfte att belysa Key för hennes åsikter/tankar på olika sätt och i viss mån belyser detta i relation till hennes påverkan hon hade på samhället och bildning. Förändringarna i historiebruket om henne är inte synbara, däremot är hennes förälskelse Urban von Feilitzen särskilt essentiell i de tidiga historiebruken av henne för att sedan upphöra i minnet om henne i de senare. De representativa exemplen visar även att det är vanligast att aktörerna lyfter henne i syfte att utbilda, minnas eller/och underhålla. Resultatet visar även på att de olika kulturerna har olika sorters framträdande historiebruk och att det således finns en skillnad i hur historiebruket syftas till att användas i materialet.

In this bachelor thesis the aim was to examine who uses Ellen Keys memory and how the memory is used in the swedish history culture during 1969–2020. To examine this representative examples from educational culture, popular culture and memorial culture has been chosen. This thesis has examined the questions in which purpose Key's memory was used, which image that was conveyed and how the changes looked like in the image of Key and also what the operators wanted to convey from her memory. To answer these questions the material has been chosen through a theoretical framework made by Swedish historian Anders Dybelius with three categorizations: popular culture, memorial culture, and educational culture. The material that was chosen to analyze is mostly based on literature but also a musical track, a YouTube-serie and a ”student-spex”.

The result shows that most of the representative chosed examples has an aim to raise Key for her opinions/thoughts in different way and in some extent raise this in relation to her influence on the society. The changes in history use about her is not apparent, however her lover Urban von Feilitzen is especially essential in the early history uses about her but then ceases in the memory about her in the latter. The representative examples also shows that it is most common that the operators is using her in purpose to educate, remember and/or entertain. The result also expose that the different cultures have different kinds of prominent history use and that it thus is a difference in how history use is purposed to be used in the material.
