Bakgrund: Efter den strokedrabbades insjuknande förändras partnerns aktivitetsroller och vardag. I examensarbetet syftar begreppet delaktighet på hur inkluderad partnern upplever sig få vara i rehabiliteringsprocessen. I rehabiliteringsprocessen är två av vårdpersonalens ansvarsområden att motivera patienten att träna samt inkludera de anhöriga. Syftet med examensarbetet var att identifiera hur delaktiga partners till strokedrabbade upplevde sig få vara i rehabiliteringsprocessen. Kvalitativ metod användes genom nätverksurval och semi-strukturerade intervjuer. Urvalet gjordes genom kontakt med tre olika enheter där tio informanter intervjuades via telefon. En kvalitativ innehållsanalys utfördes. I resultatet framkom att vissa av informanternas aktivitetsroller har förlorats då vissa livsområden var bortglömda av vården, till exempel sexuella aktiviteter. Delaktigheten i rehabiliterings-processen har varit beroende på vårdenhet och vårdpersonal. Slutsatsen var att när en person fick en stroke påverkades även partnern och andra närstående. Det framkom att det fanns en stor oro över den strokedrabbades hälsa hos de anhöriga när de inte fick ta del av viktig information. Informanternas utförande av meningsfulla aktiviteter blev begränsat.  

Background: After the patient had a stroke, the partner´s activities and everyday life changes. Participation in this degree thesis refers to how included the partner feels in the rehabilitation process. In the rehabilitation process, two of the healthcare staff's responsibilities are to motivate the patient to exercise and to include the relatives. The aim of this degree thesis was to identify how partners to stroke patients experienced participation in the rehabilitation process. Qualitative method was used through network sample and semi-structured interviews. The selection was made through contact with three units, ten respondents were selected and interviewed by telephone. A qualitative content analysis was performed. The results showed some of the respondent´s activity roles have been lost in certain areas of life and was forgotten by healthcare, such as sexual activity. Participation in the rehabilitation process has depended on the care unit and care staff.  The conclusion was that when a person had a stroke, the partner and other relatives were also affected. The informants experienced anxiety when they didn´t receive important information about the stroke patient. The respondent´s performance of meaningful activities was limited.
