HR-roles in context to Covid-19 and teleworking : An analysis of three types of companies to see the impact of Covid-19 andteleworking on the HR role (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Background: Teleworking as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has become a hot topic in recent years. HR, like all other professions, has been affected by this, HR is a complex profession that requires a lot of human interaction and therefore may be difficult to combine with a telework in all situations.

Purpose: The aim is to interpret if there is a change in the HR role within organizations in the context of the increased teleworking as a result of Covid-19.

Method: This study was conducted using a qualitative data collection in the form of semi-structured interviews and an interpretive approach. The data collection has since led to an empirical data analysis that identified four themes in the form of initial crisis work, the digital approach, communication in digital contexts and the future after covid-19.

Conclusion: HR has had to work more operationally than before to be able to handle the problems that Covid-19 has caused. This has meant that the focus has shifted from the strategic roles that exist within HR. Therefore, the HR role has been affected but has not fundamentally changed.
