Abstract [en]

Previous studies discovered that high-growth companies help in stimulating innovation, enhancing competition, accelerating job creation, and raising productivity and incomes. Scale-ups are an important player in the renewal of the industry base in most developed countries. But there is still a lack of knowledge and insights about key drivers and challenges companies face in scaling their businesses or building up a scalable business model. Also, there is no definite answer in explaining why scale-ups are mainstreaming now.
