Stadieövergången mellan årskurs 3 och 4 kan vara särskilt sårbar för elever med lässvårigheter. För att lärare ska ha möjlighet att stödja elever i språklig sårbarhet krävs kunskaper om vad som är särskilt sårbart, vilka insatser som kan implementeras och hur elever gynnas av det. Syftet med studien är att belysa hur svensklärare i årskurs 3 och 4 uppfattar att förebyggande insatser påverkar läsutveckling vid stadieövergången, med särskilt fokus på elever i språklig sårbarhet. Studien utgår från ett salutogent perspektiv och forskningsfrågorna som besvarats är: Hur uppfattar svensklärare att hälsofrämjande förhållningsätt främjar elevers läsutveckling och hälsa? Vilka förebyggande insatser anser svensklärare i årskurs 3 och 4 är gynnsamma för elever i språklig sårbarhet i stadieövergången? och Vilka erfarenheter har svensklärare av språklig sårbarhet vid stadieövergången från årskurs 3 till 4? För att uppfylla syftet har totalt sex svensklärare i årskurs 3 och 4 intervjuats genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. 

Resultatet organiserades tematiskt utifrån studiens frågeställningar under rubrikerna: Upplevelser av hälsofrämjande förhållningssätt, Förebyggande insatser vid stadieövergången och Erfarenheter av språklig sårbarhet vid stadieövergången.

Resultatet visar att samverkan med vårdnadshavare anses vara en resurs i arbetsprocessen med elevernas läsutveckling. Samverkan med speciallärare och specialpedagog beskrivs som en bro mellan årskurs 3 och 4, eftersom lärare kan ta hjälp av dem för att ta fram gynnsamma arbetsformer för elever. Resultatet framhåller betydelsen av rutiner samt ger exempel på vilka förbyggande insatser som anses vara viktigt vid stadieövergången. Även en tydlig ansvarsfördelning anses vara centralt för att en lyckad övergång ska ske.

Transitioning from third to fourth grade can be particularly challenging for pupils with reading disabilities. To support pupils with linguistic challenges through the transition the teacher benefits from having specific knowledge in the subject. Being well informed in the areas that are challenging for the pupil, what support is needed and how it benefits the pupil are a few examples. Describing how teachers, specializing in the Swedish language, in third and fourth grade perceive that preventing measurers affects the reading development at the transition is the aim of the study, where pupils with linguistic challenges is in focus. The study is based on a salutogenic perspective. Questions answered in the results are: How do teachers specializing in the Swedish language perceive that health-promoting attitudes promote students' reading development and health? What preventive measures do teachers specializing in the Swedish language in grades 3 and 4 consider to be beneficial for linguistic challenged pupils in the transition? And What experiences do teachers specializing in the Swedish language have of linguistic challenged pupils at the transition from year 3 to 4?  To fulfil the aim, a total of six teachers specializing in the Swedish language in grades 3 and 4 were interviewed. The method of use has been semi-structured interview. Based on the questions and the aim of the study the central theme was formulated: Experiences of health-promoting approaches, Prevention, and health-promoting initiatives for pupils with linguistic challenges at the transition and Teachers' experiences of linguistic challenged pupils in the transition. The result indicates that collaboration with guardians can be perceived as a resource in the process working with pupils reading development. Collaboration with supporting remedial teachers is described as a bridge between third and fourth grade. Teachers can receive help from the supporting remedial teachers and together develop profitable working methods at the transition. It also indicates the importance of routines and present examples of which preventive measures are considered favourable at the transition. A clear division of responsibilities is also considered to be central for a successful transition.
