Good Governance measures and E-governance policies are interdependent and therefore it is important to unravel the dynamic of the interactions. As societies increasingly embrace digital transformations, the study of the effectiveness becomes more and more important. Beginning with Pearson correlation analysis, to explore the relationship between the E-Government Index and indicators of good governance. This study employs a rigorous analytical approach to bring a pivotal contribution to the literature and the exploration of cause-effect relationship. The results suggest a nuanced and mixed causal influence, indicating that the relationship's direction is not universally predetermined (symbiotic dance). The findings also highlighted a positive impact of the ICT implementation on the regulatory quality in all the models estimated. However, the impact of good governance on the implementation of e-government measures varies, presenting mixed results depending on the variable under investigation. The analysis reveals that governance effectiveness consistently shows positive effects, and contrarily, presented mixed results and significances for the impact of the Rule of Law indicator. Finally, the conclusions also show that there are variations in significance and effects arise when examining results on a continental-clustering scale.
