Background: Entrepreneurship is often seen as a desirable and prestigious career.
However, pursuing entrepreneurship can also be highly stressful and negatively impact
one's well-being. Some of the most important factors affecting the well-being of
entrepreneurs are the resources they have around them, such as their family, recognition
from other stakeholders, and other individual factors. However, we lack a clear
understanding of how entrepreneurs utilize these resources to sustain or improve their
eudaimonic well-being.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to observe and determine how entrepreneurs utilize
psychosocial resources to sustain or improve their eudaimonic well-being.
Method: This is a qualitative study relying on an abductive approach. Multiple
explanatory case studies were conducted to study how entrepreneurs utilize psychosocial
resources to sustain or improve their well-being. The sampling method used in this study
is purposive sampling, which is a non-random sampling method. The data-collection
method used is semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions, and as a method
for data analysis, template analysis was used to find patterns between the different cases.
Conclusion: Self-efficacy emphasizes the importance of believing in yourself in
sustaining and improving overall well-being among entrepreneurs. Optimism is utilized
by building motivation and creating resilience to sustain or improve well-being. Self-
esteem allows entrepreneurs to confidently pursue their goals. Family support emerges as
a critical resource in improving entrepreneurs’ well-being with emotional support.
Activities such as exercise, good diet, sleep, meditation, and reflection provide a way for
psychological recovery and detachment from work, thereby improving well-being.
