Då dagens lösenordslösningar utmanas och säkerheten hos digitala identiteter är i fokus krävs det mer innovativa och pålitliga lösningar. På grund av fler cyberhot och alltmer sofistikerade angrepp krävs det säkrare samt användarvänliga metoder. Med hjälp av lösenordsfri autentisering erbjuds en möjlighet till säkrare autentiseringsmetoder samt smidigare inloggning.  

Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva och förklara svenska företag och organisationers inställning till lösenordsfri autentisering samt identifiera vilka hinder och möjligheter som kan uppstå vid implementation. Studien identifierar varför svenska företag och organisationer har eller inte har implementerat lösenordsfri autentisering. För att besvara studiens syfte valdes en kvalitativ ansats, som utfördes med hjälp av tio semi-strukturerade intervjuer med autentiseringsexperter i Sverige. 

Studiens resultat visar att företagen har en positiv inställning mot lösenordsfri autentisering. De huvudsakliga hinder som identifierats är kostnad, gammal hård- och mjukvara samt utbildning och kunskapsgivande moment för företag och användare. Bland respondenterna nämns det att lösenordsfri autentisering ökar både säkerheten och användarvänligheten.

Studien landar i rekommendationer för implementation av lösenordsfri autentisering riktade mot företag och organisationer. Studien lägger grund för vidare forskning inom området eftersom ett lägre deltagande inte säkerställer en generell överblick.  

As today´s password solutions are challenged and the security of digital identities is in focus, more innovative and reliable solutions are required. Due to an increase in cyber threats and increasingly sophisticated attacks, more secure and user-friendly methods are needed. Passwordless authentication offers an opportunity for more secure authentication methods and smoother logins. 

The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the attitude Swedish companies and organisations has towards passwordless authentication, as well as to identify the obstacles and opportunities that may arise during implementation. The study identifies why Swedish companies and organisations have or have not implemented passwordless authentication. To answer the purpose of the study, a qualitative approach was chosen, which was concluded through ten semi-structured interviews with authentication experts in Sweden. 

The results of the study show that companies have a positive attitude towards passwordless authentication. The main obstacles identified are cost, outdated hardware, and software, as well as training and knowledge-giving aspects for companies and users. Among the respondents, it is mentioned that passwordless authentication increases both security and user-friendliness. 

The study concludes with recommendations for the implementation of passwordless authentication aimed at companies and organisations. The study lays the foundation for further research in the area as a lower participation rate does not ensure a general overview.
