Med ett kritiskt diskursanalytiskt tillvägagångssätt har denna studie analyserat hur två rikstäckande kvällstidningar, Aftonbladet och Expressen, skriver om och skildrar samtyckeslagen genom sina texter. I studien undersöks hur media skildrar samtyckeslagen. Materialet som analyserades var 27 texter publicerade i Aftonbladet respektive Expressen under år 2018 vid samtyckeslagens införande samt år 2023 för att identifiera eventuella skillnader i diskursen vid införandet och några år senare. Faircloughs tredimensionella modell för kritisk diskursanalys användes vid analyserandet av texterna. Resultatet visar att samtyckeslagen skildras som en juridisk, social och kulturell reform som väcker både stöd och kritik. Framställningen av samtyckeslagen varierar mellan artiklarna, även om de teman som berörs i artiklarna är desamma. Rättssäkerhet, könsroller, frivillighet, respekt och jämställdhet är återkommande exempel på teman som står i fokus i artiklarna. Genom olika valda teoretiska perspektiv synliggörs hur lagen uppfattas och vilka diskurser den formar i samhället.

By using a critical discourse analytical approach, this study has analysed how two national daily newspapers, Aftonbladet and Expressen, write about and portray the sexual consent act through their texts. The study examines how the media's portrayal the Consent Act. The analysed material was 27 texts published in Aftonbladet and Expressen respectively, in the year 2018, when the Consent Act was introduced, and in 2023, in order to identify any differences in the discourse at the time of introduction and a few years later. Fairclough's three dimensional model for critical discourse analysis was used when examining the texts. The results show that the Consent Act is portrayed as a legal, social and cultural reform that provokes both support and criticism. The presentation of the law of consent varies between the articles, even if the themes touched upon in the articles are the same. The rule of law, gender roles, volunteering, respect and equality are recurring examples of themes that are in focus in the articles. How the law is perceived and which discourses it shapes in society, is made visible through various selected theoretical perspectives.
