The role of communication in brand communities : A qualitative interview-based study about members in Djerf Avenues brand community (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study examines how members of the Djerf Avenue brand community perceive the brand and how Djerf Avenues communication shapes their relationship with and ability to identify with the brand. The purpose of the study is to gain a deeper understanding of the role of communication in this context. A qualitative interview method was applied, involving semi-structured interviews with eight female members of the Djerf Avenue brand community. The analysis and discussion are grounded in previous research, elements of social identity theory, and the concept of relationship marketing. The findings indicate that communication promoting inclusion, reflecting the brand’s values, and portraying a lifestyle on social media that members aspire to increases the likelihood of identification with the brand. A personal, transparent, and customer-oriented communication approach that fosters emotional connection is essential for building long-term customer relationships with high engagement.
