Hedersrelaterat våld och förtryck är en komplex samhällsproblematik som ställer höga krav på socialtjänstens förmåga att identifiera och hantera dessa ärenden. Denna studie syftar till att kartlägga de utmaningar och brister som socialtjänsten möter i sitt arbete med hedersrelaterat våld, med fokus på kunskapsbehov, samverkan och stödstrukturer. Genom en scoping review analyserades åtta källor sex rapporter, en bok och en artikel för att belysa centrala teman såsom bristande kompetens, stigmatisering och behovet av långsiktigt stöd. Resultatet visar att socialtjänsten ofta saknar tillräckliga resurser och utbildning för att hantera hedersrelaterat våld på ett effektivt sätt, vilket påverkar både kvaliteten på insatserna och de utsattas möjligheter till stöd. Rädslan för att diskriminera individer från kulturella minoriteter framträder som en central utmaning, vilket försvårar identifieringen av våldsfall och kan förstärka befintliga normer och strukturer. Med intersektionalitetsteorin som analysram belyses hur kön, etnicitet och socioekonomisk status samverkar för att skapa olika former av utsatthet. Studien understryker behovet av utvecklade utbildningsprogram, formaliserade samverkansmodeller som kan förbättra socialtjänstens arbete och skapa mer hållbara stödstrukturer. 

This thesis examines the challenges and shortcomings within social services when addressing honor-based violence (HBV) and oppression, with a particular focus on supporting women subjected to such violence. Through a scoping review, eight sources were analyzed, including six reports, one article, and one book, to identify gaps in knowledge, structural barriers, and organizational shortcomings. The results highlight four key themes: inadequate education and training for social workers, fragmented collaboration between agencies, insufficient long-term support for victims, and the impact of stigma and discrimination. These findings demonstrate how gaps in inter-agency cooperation and limited resources exacerbate the difficulties faced by social services in addressing HBV. Using intersectionality theory, the analysis reveals how factors such as gender, ethnicity, and socio-economic status intersect to shape the experiences of victims and the responses of social services. The thesis concludes that addressing these challenges requires targeted interventions, such as improved training for social workers, enhanced inter-agency collaboration, and the development of long-term support structures tailored to the complex needs of victims of HBV
