Introduction: The ageing population highlights the need for holistic care approaches in nursing home settings. Traditional cultural activities may enhance older adults’ wellbeing by supporting participation and enacted togetherness. Occupational therapy can integrate these activities, but hearing older adults’ perceptions is essential for culturally relevant practices. Aim: To explore and describe how older adults perceive traditional cultural activities within nursing home settings. Method: Qualitative research design rooted in social constructivism employing focus group interviews with reflexive thematic analysis approach. Findings: Data analysis resulted into three main themes and four sub-themes supported by direct quotes and observational data. Conclusions: Older adults living in Lithuanian nursing home settings perceive traditional cultural activities as vital for social connection, their wellbeing and the ones bringing purpose and joy in daily lives. This study highlights the importance of integrating such activities into occupational therapy to promote cultural humility and enacted togetherness, though further research is needed for broader, practical implementation. Significance: This study highlights under-researched perceptions of older adults in nursing home settings, discussing traditional cultural activities’ role in fostering joy, social connections, and holistic wellbeing.
