Public procurements, such as defense procurements are large investments made by governments. Intuitively, these contracts act under a different regulatory framework compared to the average commercial business deal. Defense acquisitions usually include an element that exemplifies the differences between public procurements and commercial deals: namely an industrial cooperation (IC) agreement. This paper will evaluate what affects the outcome of an IC-program. This is an important question as it will advance the understanding of how an IC-program should be constructed and executed. This paper applies a logit-model to test if a selection of variables affects the outcome of the Czech-Republic IC-program. Variables affecting the outcome of an IC-program were derived from historical cases and the data for these variables was obtained through interviews. The shortage of data is a frequently returning problem in this area of research; however this paper contributes with primary data which was analyzed with the logit-model. The results show that several variables explain the outcome of an IC-program but due to the limited data the conclusions are modest. Even if the conclusions are modest they contribute to the field of research as previous studies lack the type of primary data this paper supply.
